2010 Great Texas Warrant Round-Up |
|
02/22/2010
The City of Sweeny
Municipal Court will be among more than 300 jurisdictions across Texas
as participants in the “2010 Great Texas Warrant Round-Up” which
officially begins Saturday, March 6, 2010. The Sweeny Municipal
Court will join nearly seventy other regional participants, including:
Alvin, Angleton, Brazoria, Lake Jackson and Pearland, in this
statewide annual event to target people who have outstanding warrants
with their respective Municipal Courts.
The City of Sweeny has over
500 active warrants it is seeking to clear. Municipal Court officials
are encouraging defendants to take advantage of one of the options
available to settle outstanding warrants, however, no amnesty is being
offered in conjunction with the Round-Up effort.
Once the enforcement period
begins March 6th, Texas Law Enforcement officers will aggressively
target those persons with outstanding warrants and arrests can take
place at any location, including: the defendant’s home, school and
workplace. Municipal Courts statewide are working very hard to notify
defendants that there are options available to assist them in taking
care of their outstanding warrants now, to avoid arrest later.
To check whether you have
an outstanding warrant with the Sweeny Municipal Court, click on
either of the links below for an updated warrant list:
Persons with outstanding
Sweeny warrants are urged to contact the Sweeny Municipal Court before
March 6th to avoid arrest:
