Harry Beverly was born in Shepherd, Texas, on September
11, 1923.
He
attended Sam Houston State Teacher's College where he
earned a Bachelor Degree in Education. He received his
Masters Degree in Education from the University of
Houston.
Mr. Beverly served in the United States Navy during
World War II in the South Pacific.
Mr. Beverly was employed by the Sweeny Independent
School District for 35 years as a coach and then as the
Principal of the Sweeny Junior High School.
Mr. Beverly served with many community organizations and
