Police Department

The City of Sweeny Police Department serves the City of Sweeny's crime prevention, law enforcement, and public safety needs.  The police department consists of 10 sworn officers.  In May of 2007, the police department relocated to 123 N. Oak Street from its previous, long-time station which was located at 111 W. Third Street.  The agency is led by Chief Gary Stroud, a long-time figure in Brazoria County law enforcement.  The agency fields approximately 4,000 calls for service each year and boasts a low crime rate.
